App of the Week

AliExpress

These days, purchasing products online is so common that everyone does it. From youngsters to elders, who hasn’t ordered technology or kitchenware online? The options out there are huge, but there aren’t that many apps with vast varieties of products in their catalogues like this one. Of course, we’re talking about AliExpress, our App of the Week!

You probably know this eCommerce site because of the memes. People receiving products that don’t match the description is common among the main big eCommerce sites; and that’s happened to this editor in eBay, Amazon and AliExpress. This online retail service is based in China, a country known for being the factory of the world. That’s probably why the products offered in AliExpress cover basically everything. The good thing about this platform is that you can find small sellers that wouldn’t have any chance of get good positioning in a normal search engine. So it doesn’t matter if you are looking for a very specific clothing item for your Halloween costume or a component to your DIY technology project: it’ll be on AliExpress!

AliExpress is a safe platform to buy from. That said, it’s worthy to take a few things into consideration before tapping on Buy. First of all: read the product description. It may sound obvious, but the majority of times when I’ve been disappointed when opening the parcel, it’s been because I didn’t read important things like the product size. Moreover, AliExpress offers some buyer protections that you should take into account when making a purchase. On the first hand, they offer a full refund if you don’t receive the product. As straight as it sounds. Also, the company offers a full/partial refund if the product is not as described. Also, feel free to use the feedback page to understand better which kind of seller you’re buying from. You’ll see valuable information there!

The payment methods available in AliExpress are massive, as you could expect from a Chinese giant. It obviously allows to pay with major bank cards from everywhere in the world, as well as local payments available such as Mercado Pago for the Mexican buyers or Webmoney for Russian ones. Download it now and have a look at their catalogue; you’ll find what you’re looking for!

App of the Week
A New Social Media
Do you also have the feeling that social media has just become way too fake? The people that I know in real life seem to be completely different people on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok profiles. I’m sure they don’t exercise that much and, clearly, they don’t have avocado toast for breakfast on a daily basis. Our App of the Week is here to change that since it’s designed for everyone to be much more honest than we are used to in the old-school social platforms. Ready to BeReal?

App of the Week
TikTok
It was only a matter of time before TikTok was chosen to be featured as App of the Week. Why? Well... I don't know if you have heard about it, but it's absolutely killing it! Only last December, the app added 75 million new users. The number of installs has multiplied by 25 during the last two years in some parts of the world, and it has been declared the 7th most downloaded mobile app of the decade. Big wow!
