We all are pretty used to 3D graphics, cartoonish designs, old school 2D games... Although we may think that it seems the options are quite limited, game designers sometimes take big risks and surprise us in a very pleasant way. And that’s one of the reasons for Ronin: The Last Samurai to be our Game of the Week. Ready for the surprise?
The first impression you get of Ronin is that it’s not the usual Android game in terms of designs... at all. It features quite an elegant ink and wash painting style, just like beautiful artistic sketches that are still in the making process. We absolutely love the fresh feeling it brings to our world: 12 points for the designers! The gameplay has quite an interesting story based on chapters. You’ll fight enemies to clear these chapters and, if you die, you’ll have to start the chapter again.
In Ronin: The Last Samurai you’ll face a different style of enemies and here’s the tricky part: you’ll need to think of the best way to attack. They can have weapons like swords, muskets, or spears and you’ll have to choose between attacking, blocking an enemy attack, using special ones... Timing is a cornerstone in this game! You’ll find different power-ups to use, but be careful, since we feel there are not many of these! Gems and gold are the in-game currency that you can use to acquire these power-ups and recover your health or reduce the damage you receive. Even though the controls are pretty standard, you’ll find a tutorial the first time you open the game, so no chance to get lost!
We’re sure you all probably find many reasons to download Ronin: The Last Samurai, but we really want to insist on the graphics. It’s an opportunity to see something different in the Android world that you shouldn't miss!
