Game of the Week

Legends of Runeterra

Sometimes it’s hard to choose a game among the different options you may have in the same type. Should I play Clash of Clans or Brave Conquest? Well, this time our Game of the Week is like a composition of things we love from games alike: a bit of League of Legends with a touch of Magic and the cards gameplay of Hearthstone. No need to choose because Legends of Runeterra has everything you want and that’s why it’s our Game of the Week!

Legends of Runeterra is the mobile card-game version of League of Legends and that’s exciting by itself. The gameplay has some specifications when compared to other TGCs but we found it very straightforward when learning how to play. Battles are one vs one until there is only one of the two players left. You’ll have to use your heroes and their spells on each turn to destroy the health points of your opponent. As expected, you’ll need to use mana to play your cards!

You’ll have two types of players: champions and followers. The cool thing, especially for LOL fans, is that you can find your favorite champions here, fighting in a completely different field (and style)! So, expect to see Lux, Lucian and Fiora! There are four types of spells for your champions to be aided, like fast or slow spells. This will determine if the spell can be used at any time of the match, when not in combat, if they’ll give your opponent the chance to respond... Spells are basically adding the level of complexity that we need in a good card game.

Another interesting bit of complexity is the limit of 40 cards to your deck. You’ll have to choose wisely and especially learn how to combine them for them to be as effective as possible in the battlefield. Once you’re game, respond to the attacks as you know and become the master of the battle! Don’t forget to let us know what you think in our social media channels!
