Critical Ops

Another FPS? Yeah!

You may think that we’ve got enough of this… But no. Shooting games are never enough, and this one is quite amazeballs. Not only the gameplay itself but also the graphics, the controls… Everything you could expect on a quality FPS.

Game Modes

This title’s got different game modes but we’ll focus on Defuse and, specially, Deadmatch. The Defuse game mode targets more dedicated users who enjoy complexity and elaborated strategy on shooting games. Basically, you only get one life to activate or deactivate a bomb. This allows you to develop a quite complex strategy, like setting the bomb in the wrong place to attract the allies (in case you are in the terrorist team) and get them all at once. Our opinion on this? If you’re want to think, go for it. If you prefer to run around shooting the enemy, choose Deadmatch. This way you’ll join one of the two teams in a scenario (some of them quite cool, like the city of Barcelona) to chase the enemy. Honestly, that’s what I want.

The Controls

This is what I like bout Critical Ops, specially when you compare it to other shooting games like Counter Strike or Bullet Force. As you can expect, it works with the usual left thumb to move and right one to aim and shoot. The moving and looking around is as smooth as you can get. It seems so real that’s even scary! And, what I enjoyed the most: the auto-aim feature. One of the complex things of mobile shooting games is that aiming can be frustrating, due to the sensibility of our fingers on a screen. Critical Ops has clearly been developed for mobile instead of being an adaptation of a PC (or other platforms).

No Pay-to-Win

Oh yeah, mama. Some of us don’t enjoy those games on which paying for things can give significant advantages. Not only because it makes the game experience unfair but also because game progression itself gets relegated to a second level. On Critical Ops you can pay for weapon skins (which actually are quite cool). But that’s all. The rest is basically a skill based fight between allies and terrorists. Good luck shooter!
