Are you ready for da PARTY???? Our Game of the Week this time is a party game that we’re sure you’ll enjoy with current friends and friends to be, so forget about Cluedo, Uno, and Picolo and get ready for Among Us.
Although it’s quite a simple game, it seems the tutorial is not clear enough for you to understand everything at first. So please pay attention here! You’ll have to get a spaceship ready along with 4-10 players via local WiFi or online. One (or more) members of the crew will be impostors. The goal? Normal crew members have to complete the tasks to prepare the ship or eject the impostor, while the impostor’s goal is to kill the other crew members or prevent them from completing the tasks.
Once you join a game, you’ll have little time to talk to the other members. Each crew member is identified by username and color. Once the game starts… do your thing! On your left-hand side you’ll see the lists of tasks to be completed. This is useful for everyone: normal crew members know what they’ve got to do, and the impostor knows what they've got to sabotage! Our recommendation is to always move around in groups… and if you’re the impostor, always try to find someone alone!
Once someone is killed or if someone calls an emergency meeting, the chat will be available and you’ll have some time to discuss who to accuse. This is when psychology and communication gets involved. Basically everyone will accuse everyone based on nothing… or not? Who should you believe? You can tell we love this part of the game, and it’ll remind you of the cards game The Wolf or even the board game Secret Hitler (love it).
The idea is great fun, especially to play in a LAN party with friends. Although some things could be improved, like the chat (it’s a bit annoying to write with your phone on portrait), or the timings (sometimes the discussion is too much on fire to make a decision just yet). Anyway, we are sure you’ll have great fun with this title, so go ahead and give Among Us a try!
